Whenever I have ten thousand online projects to do, I set the timer to break up each task into 30 minute bites.

I've been using your timer for about six months. The gong scares the sh*t out of me every single time.

I plan to try this to time myself while studying - it'll remind me to take a break, and help me to focus for blocks of time.
Other uses I want to try it for:
timing prayer/meditation: I'd like to pray/meditate for at least 20 minutes at a go, but I can't really relax into it when I have to keep checking the time. When I have a gong to pull me out of it, I'll be more likely to start. (Will have to figure out how to have my computer not turn off in 20 minutes though).

creative writing - I need to do some serious AIC (ass in chair) work! But focussing is hard...the timer will keep me on track.

I used the timer to work on some articles that I have been procrastinating about...

I love the idea of using this to time a speech...
