This Day Is It

by Bamboo Forest

Today is the only day that exists in your life.

This means attaining success today is everything.

Can you imagine starting each day knowing that this day is either the day you fulfill your mission or won’t? Doing so would make each day burst with possibility and meaning.

Today is never just another day. The currency of your life consists of many days in succession until no more remain. This realization makes each day profound.

Today is like being invited into a giant auditorium and being told you can take whatever you find. Though, if you don’t look for the treasure that can be found within your day, you’ll end up empty handed.

Today’s Possible Discoveries

  • Find today that you can control your thoughts instead of your thoughts controlling you
  • Make a decision to live your life in new ways that will change your destiny
  • Approach an attractive person knowing the worst that can happen is absolutely harmless

While the profundity of today is without measure considering all you can accomplish within its span, what about its cousin the hour?

Truth is, an hour is like a microcosm of a day. Because it’s what you do within your hours that make your day valuable.

An example, right now I’m writing a blog post that will contribute to helping this blog become popular. This outcome means a lot to me and I’m filling my minutes with absolute value by contributing to that goal.

This day is the most important day of your life because it’s the one you exist in! Days of the past no longer exist. Days of the future are but a dream.

Today? This day is your day to shine and it’s the most important one you’ll ever have.

What will you do with it?

Hi Bamboo Forest,

This is a meaningful post.

Many people get so caught up in their daily lives that they take each day for granted. As a result each day loses its meaning and value to them. This leads to waste of time and opportunities for most people. After all, if they can put something off till tomorrow why not?

You post is a well needed reminded that we have to live in the moment and treasure it. We have to make the best use of our time and not waste it. We will never have this moment again and so we should not take it for granted.

Thanks for sharing!

Today is the only guarantee we have.

I plan to use this day to appreciate everything I have.

Hi Bamboo,

The mindset that today is the day when great things can happen is probably the most liberating one there is.

If we approach today with an attitude that we can achieve anything, we will – at least – achieve something… and that’s a wonderful feeling!

A friend of mine Tweeted today:
“The more you do in a day, the better you will feel. Pass it on.” – @julien

There’s a lot of truth in that statement. I know because the more organized I feel, the more I work towards my goals (big and small) on any given day, the better I feel and the greater sense of accomplishment that accompanies me at the close of each and every single day. I try and eliminate the “busy work” of course and focus on the things that take me one step closer to the little successes, the little victories that inch me closer to my goals.

@ The Vizier: Very well said. And the fact that we will never have this moment again is a very profound truth.

@ Alex: Using your day to appreciate everything you have is indeed a noble and productive use of a day.

@ Scott: Well said. And I agree, if we truly value the day, we’ll be prone to actually accomplish something meaningful.

@ Ricardo: That’s a very good sentiment and thank you for sharing it.

Great point about being organized. It’s so true: The more organized we are the more our mind will be clear, the more energy we’ll have and the more we’ll get done.
